2007-2008 Flag Ceremony & Den Assignments

Here are the den assignments for this year. Included at the bottom are the opening and closing ceremonies.

Opening Ceremony

Speaker	Comments
Will the audience please rise? (pause)	Commands should be given loud and clear. Color guard waits at the rear of the room for the audience to stand and the room to get quiet.
Color guard, advance!	US flag should be carried on the marching right and in the lead of the procession. When the flag bearers reach the front of the room, the US flag crosses first to the left, followed by the other flags crossing to the right of the stage when viewed from the audience. Speaker's eyes should follow the US flag until it is in position in the front of the room. Flag bearers and color guards take position in front of room near flag stands. They stand at attention, facing the audience. The flags are held vertically.
Scouts, salute!	All scouts, with the possible exception of the flag bearers, salutes.
Please repeat with me the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands, One nation, under God, indivisible, With liberty and justice for all.	He begins the pledge with the audience joining in. The pack flag is lowered slightly and full attention is given to the US flag.
Color guard, post the colors!	The US flag is placed in its stand; then the flag bearer and color guard salute it and step back into place. The pack flag is then posted; its bearer and color guard salute it and step back into place. (The American flag is always posted or raised first, and removed or lowered last).
Please join with me in reciting the Cub Scout Promise. I, ____________, promise to do my best To do my duty to God and my country, To help other people, and To obey the law of the pack.	Speaker raises the Cub Scout sign with the right hand.
Two!	Salutes are dropped. The pack flag is then raised again to a vertical position.
Color Guard, dismissed!	Flag bearers lead procession to back of room, with speaker following last.

Closing Ceremony

Will the audience please rise?	Commands should be given loud and clear. Color guard waits at the rear of the room for the audience to stand and the room to get quiet.
Color Guard, advance!	US flag guard and bearer and pack flag guard and bearer walk down the aisle and to the flags. They stand behind the flags, facing the audience.
Scouts, Salute!	The color guards, bearers, and all scouts in the audience salute.
Color Guard, retire the colors!	Bearers drop their salute. The US flag is removed first. The bearers and guards proceed down the aisle to the rear of the room. The US flag stays on the marching right.
Two!	Salutes are dropped.
